Do you have Elizabeth Ricketts in you files? Or her husband Jefferson
Hizer? I know they lived primarily in Switzerland County. Elizabeth is my
g-g-g-grandmother. I believe Jefferson is buried in Switzerland Co, but I
have never been able to find out where Elizabeth is buried or exactly when
she died. I know she died very young (before the age of 20), about 1829.
In 1850 I found Ricketts living next to my g-g-grandparents in Rising Sun.
My g-g-g-grandparents lived near Salem Ridge and are buried at Salem
Cemetery as well as many other ancestors. Some others are buried at
Birdzell-Carpenter Cem.

Jackie -- I am new to this board on
RootsWeb.com I saw your posts from
3-5 years ago. I am aware of Ricketts in Ohio County, IN. I do have one
of the reprints of the Dearborn County History Book. Ohio County was part
of Dearborn County until about 1845. I know there was a Judge Ricketts
down there, but would have to look through the index on the book for
specifics. The book was originally printed in 1885.
If you are able to still receive this message and still lacking
information, let me know and I'll see what I can find out.
Linda Elliott (My husband's family is from Ohio County -- Elliott,
Birdzell, Lotton, from Salem Ridge near Rising Sun.)
