I need an obituary, if one exists for the following person.
Silas Mason RIGGS, died July 17, 1950 according to burial index
at Rising Sun New Cemetery.
Silas was married to Nora T. HATTON (nee Satchwell) on November 12, 1927.

RISING SUN RECORDER, 20 July 1950: "Rev. Louis L. Day, pastor of the
Baptist Church, conducted services in the Detmer & Detmer Funeral Home
Thursday (today) at 2 p.m. for Silas Mason Riggs, 84, a former owner and
operator of the Riverside Hotel in Rising Sun, who died unexpectedly
Monday, at 6 p.m. at his home on Mulberry Street. Burial will be in the
new cemetery.
Pallbearers wee Robert Fisher, Alfred Strautman, John Cayton, John
Graves, Ed Detmer, and Russell Pargett.
A native of Boone County, KY. where he was born Feb. 23, 1866, Mr.
Riggs is survived by his widow, Mrs. Nora Hatton Riggs; son, Garrett
Riggs of Connersville; four daughters, Mrs. Alford (Mayme) Ingate, also
Connersville; Mrs. Press (Ada) West of Petersburg, KY.; Mrs Henry (Nina)
Timbrook of Columbus, and Mrs. Francis (Katie) Hinkle of Detroit, MI,
and two step sons, Everett Hatton of East Enterprise and Blanton Hatton
of Mt. Sterling.
Mr. Riggs also was at one time a night watchman for the J. W.
Whitlock Co., Inc. He was the son of Mason and Naomi Glover Riggs of
Boone County.
RISING SUN RECORDER, 27 Jul 1950: "Among relatives and friends from out
of town who attended services for S. Mason Riggs at the Detmer & Detmer
Funeral Home Thursday afternoon, July 20, were Mr. and Mrs. Frank

MI; Mr. and Mrs. Robert Hodges, Mr. and Mrs Eugene Wingate, Mrs. Maude

Mr.and Mrs. Paul Schweikly, Mr. and Mrs. Gayle Wingate and Mr. and Mrs.
Roy Kibby of Connersville; Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Riggs of Indianapolis,
Mrs. Michael Noel and daughters of Cincinnati, Mr. and Mrs. Blanton
Hatton and son of Vevay, and Mr. and Mrs. Everett Hatton and daughter of
East Enterprise."
