Ms. Greenstreet,
Ohio County was formed in 1844 from part of Dearborn County. If Mr. Edwards
lived north of Laughery Creek and died after 1845, when Laughery Creek was
established as the northern boundary, the records you seek would be in Dearborn
County.
From 1972 to 1984 a comprehensive listing of all legible headstones in Ohio
County was compiled. Joseph Edwards is not among those listed.
The Indiana Historical Society has microfilm copies of the INDIANA WHIG from
7/22/1848 to 8/10/1850 and the RISING SUN MIRROR/HERALD from 11/24/1849 to
8/21/1851.

If anyone has access to wills and probates in Ohio County, can you please
tell me whether there is a will, probate, or death notice for Joseph EDWARDS, b.
1779 in New Jersey, in the 1840s. Were there death notices in the newspaper?
Any information will be greatly appreciated.
Mildred Greenstreet
Ben M. Brown, 1872-1930, is buried in Cedar Hedge (newer) Cemetery, Rising
Sun.
