I am researching the DIEHM family of Noble & DeKalb Counties.
I received this information last year:
Christoph DIEHM from Bestenheid (today part of Wertheim/Baden-Wuerttemberg) was
allowed to emigrate to America on April 9th, 1834. He announced to go to his
brother-in-law Samuel WEIMER in America. He had 6 children when leaving but
only 300 Fl. ("Gulden").
Can anyone help me find the sister of Christopher DIEHM? the wife of Samuel
WEIMER?
Are there more DIEHMs in the WEIMER family? I noticed a lot of WEIMERs buried
in the Lutheran Cemetery near Avilla. I haven't started working on the WEIMER
families yet, but I have lots of information to share on the DIEHMs.
Here is my DIEHM family I'm working on:
John Christopher DIEHM was born about 1774 in Bestenheid(?), Germany. He
immigrated in 1834 to America. In November 1838, he purchased land from Evan
Jones in Noble County, Indiana.(the West half of the Northeast Quarter, Section
thirty-five Township thirty-four Range eleven) He died on Nov 29, 1869 in Noble
County and is buried in Lutheran Cemetery, Allen Township, Noble County,
Indiana. He was married to Anna Christina ______. Anna was born about 1795 in
Germany. She died on Nov 19, 1869 and is also buried in Lutheran Cemetery.
John Christopher DIEHM and Anna Christina ______ had the following children:
1. John Michael DIEHM b. about 1820 in Baden, Germany. Married to Salome
(Sarah) HOUSHOLDER Nov 30, 1843.
2. John Peter DIEHM b. July 11, 1826, Germany - d. Dec 11, 1913. Married to
Margrette A. RIES Feb 19, 1850.
3. Appalona DIEHM b. Oct 19, 1823 - d. Feb 24, 1898, Albion, IN. Married to
Joseph MILLER.
4. Christina DIEHM b.Feb 11, 1829 in Germany - d.Jul 13,1880 Noble County,
Indiana. Married to Thomas P.BAUMANN Feb 27, 1850.
5. Magdelena DIEHM b. Jun 1 1833 in Germany - d.Sep 10,1896 in Noble County,
Indiana. Married to George HESS.
My great-great-grandfather is John Peter DIEHM, grandfather of Frances LASCH
NEWMAN.
