First of all I want to say 'Thank You' to Marcia, Jean, Mary, and Deb
for their help and suggestions to my query. I hope I didn't miss anyone.
All the answers gave me hope that I will get my Miller family figured
out.
Listed in the Shelby Co. OH marriage book there is a Lawrence Miller and
Eliza Bothel
marriage in 1834 and a Lawrence Miller and Jane Dingman marriage in 1849.
Not
quite enough years between for one to be the father of the other, but
perhaps relatives.
Once again thank you all. - Doris
Hello,
Just a thought but it could be a second marriage for Lawrence, If his first
died depending on birth of children or area of epidemics, accidents,
sickness. I had 2 very tough brick walls that turned out to be the same man
as his 1st wife had died in child birth leaving several very young children
and he remarried her sister and they had children and for some unknown
reason they named some the same as the first set. couldn't possible be ,
then I found where some of them had died in an epidemic soon after the
second marriage so leave no rock unexplored. census and tax papers, wills,
and probate papers give some great clues. Also old newspapers for the area
have some interesting info, they so liked to gossip about who was having
dinner with whom. sometimes that makes a family connection. Who was out of
town at census time.
Just investigate every lead.
Debbie
