I would like to exchange information with anyone who might be researching the Jacob Hall
and Sarah C. (Rhodes) Hall family. According to Sarah's obituary, which I found on
the Noble County genweb site, they had ten children. (Sarah died on 26 May 1906 at the
home of her son, Phillip N. Hall.) I have found some of their children:
(1) Margaret E. Hall who married John Traxler
(2) Etta Hall who married Mr. Satterly
(3) Mrs. James Smith
(4) Mary E. Hall who married William Kettleborough
(5) Phillip N. Hall who married Elnora Thorpe and then Lena Hale
(6) Abraham L. Hall who married Frances M. Kister and then Rosetta Johnson
(7) Sarah E. Hall (she maybe be one and the same as #3 above)
(8) Jacob Sylvester Hall who married Terinda Ellen Smith (Jacob is my great-great
grandfather and I have more information on his line.)
I believe Jacob and Sarah (Rhodes) Hall were born in Pennsylvania around 1828 or 1829. I
think most of their children may have been born in Pennsylvania except the last two, Sarah
E. Hall and Jacob Sylvester Hall. It appears this family made their way to Noble County
between 1861-1869. Jacob and Sarah C. Hall appear in the 1880 Noble County census with
four of their chidren: Phillip, Abraham, Sarah E. and Jacob S. Sarah and Jacob are the
only two children born in Indiana.
Is anyone connected with this Hall family? I would love to exchange information. I can

Sincerely,
Carolyn DePaolo
