That would be me. The both start with H, it is Halbert's that was being
naughty. I guess I am extremely suspicious of any place that offers to
create my family tree or says it has books with information I need. Anyway,
thanks for both of you putting your input in.

Subject: [INNOBLE] Higginson Books
I'm afraid some have confused Higginson Books of Salem, MA with Halbert's of
Bath, Ohio. Higginson Books is a wonderful book store in Salem who is not
in the business of soliciting to anyone except customers who want to
purchase books that are now out of print or people who want to publish their
own genealogy books. They will publish a person's self-written genealogy
for them and also take old books out of copyright and re-print them for
those who wish to purchase them. These are items such as well-known
genealogies of families written in the 1800s and histories of various
counties in the U.S.; books you would find in your local or regional
genealogy oriented libraries. I have been to their shop in Salem, MA and
have been doing business with them for many years.
Halbert's, on the other hand, is the company who publishes the bogus books
about various surnames and solicites through the mail. The books mainly
contain those of that surname found in phone books around the U.S. and other
trivial information that may or may not be true. Halbert's is the company
that has been receiving the "cease and desist" orders.
I hope this helps to straighten out the two companies for those who might be
interested.
