Grandfather: Elzie Edgar (Ed) Ragan, born Green Twp 1892, Married in
1916 Lauris Mentor Herron, born Green Twp 1890. both died in Warsaw,
Kosciusko Co, IN
He was the son of Stephen Douglas (Doug) Ragan and Nancy Mariah Skidgel,
both buried Gray's Cemetery. He was reportedly a Churubusco town
constable in the early 1900's.
He was the youngest child of:
Daniel and Ann (Dingman) Ragan, Green
Twp. He died around 1897-98 Buried Gray's Cemetery
Her mother was:
Frances (Fanny) (Weeks) Dingman, was namesake for Kendallville DAR. Was
advised that she was first white (non Indian) woman to settle in the
area. Buried in Albion Cemetery. Mother of Ann (Dingman) Ragan
Nancy Mariah Skidgel is the daughter of Abrahm and Julia (Skeels)
Skidgel all buried in Gray's Cemetery
Lauris Mentor Herron was the daughter of Albert (Bert) and Vinnie (Gaff)
Herron they are buried in Christian Chapel Cemetery
Albert Herron is the son of: David and Ellen (Winebrenner) Herron,
buried in Sanford Cemetery
David Herron is the son of: Nicholas Herron he is buried in Gray's
Cemetery.
Frances Weeks Dingman is the daughter of Charles Weeks. and the husband
of James Dingman
Daniel Ragan, James Dingman and Charles Weeks are original settlers of
Fort Wayne, Allen Co. Indiana
Vinnie (Gaff) Herron is the daughter of John Gaff and ? Weirich, she is
the daughter of Franklin Wierick. (Killed in a well accident)
