Hello Noble County Genealogist.
My name is Jerry Mills and I am working on the DeBrulars/Debrulers and Reed
families that came to Noble County around 1855 or 1860. My interests are the
Joseph H. DeBrular family members. Joseph came to Noble County, Sparta
Township as Joseph Jasper Debruler and changed his name to Joseph H.
DeBrular. He came from Clermont County, Monroe Township, Ohio. He enlisted
in the 152nd Indiana Volunteers in February 1865 in Noble County. I believe
that he came to find employment with his brother in law George William Reed
and his sister Sarah Ester Debruler Reed. He married Mary Weckerly
(?Wedsley?) on the 15th of March, 1865 in Cromwell. He was married in the
house of Mr. and Mrs. Dull whom witnessed the Marriage. He was discharged in
May of 1865 and went to Brazil Indiana, Clark County, Brazil Township,
Indiana as a Wagon Maker and lived there near his eldest brother William for
about 7 years. He then purchased a home in Cromwell and raised his family of
11. In 1910, 8 members of his family were still living. They were Timothy
(Hiram) and his wife Mary, William L. and his wife Ella M. Arehart, Lillie E
DeBrular and her husband Francis M (?Stageborn?), George W. DeBrular and his
wife Kat, Anna DeBrular, John L. DeBrular and his wife Lorena, Charles Tobias
DeBrular and his wife Gertrude, Edward C. DeBrular, Ella DeBrular and her
husband Mr. Badman, and Elsworth DeBrular and his wife Nellie Sparrow (My
Grandparents).
Mary DeBrular and her husband Mr. Popenfoose. I am also interested in the
George William Reed family. He was the husband of Sarah Ester DeBrular and
they had about 15 children of which many died fairly young. George and Sarah
are buried in the Valley Cemetery along with several of their children.
Looking forward for communication with anybody familiar with my relatives or
related to them. Jerry Mills jerrydmj(a)cs.com
