Sharon, thanks for the reply. I have his entire file from the Indiana state Archives and
his death date was Nov 17 1909. It just says he died in the Home. I believe that the
Children's home society was based out of Indianapolis, but that it had receiving homes
in other towns. Curtis and his brother Walter were taken from Martinsville. On Curtis'
file card, it does mention a receiving home in Westfield. I think it was one of the homes
he was returned to from the families he was placed with. I don't know if it was the
final home or the one he died in. I was wondering if there was a "children's
cemetery" or a cemetery that was used just for orphans and such. I spoke to someone
in the health dept and was told that a death certificate would not have been issued if the
"home" did not file a death with them. The search goes on.... thanks again for
