Subject: [Morgan Co IN] Tabitha Trogline Taylor
Hi!
I recently came upon something that is a mystery to me. I have been
researching Tabitha T. "Trogline" Taylor, who I believed was the daughter of
Allen Taylor and Louisa Lamb like the rest of her siblings. But I found her
death record and it says that her parents were Allen Taylor and her moms
maiden name was Trogline from Ireland. Her daughters birth record indicates
Tabitha's middle name is Trogline. She was born in July 17, 1846, probably
in Morgan county in the northwestern portion since that is where they lived
at the time. I think it might have been in the sliver land that was later
ceded to Hendricks county. I have been unable to find any evidence of
anyone with the surname of Trogline, not only in Morgan county but also
anywhere. I don't think bastardy bonds were kept at that early time. Does
anyone have any advice about who this Trogline might be? I'd like to look at
court records or newspapers too to see if anything was recorded there, but
don't live close b!
y, and nothing seems to be digitized. I am having a very hard time
researching Morgan County during this time period.
Thank you,
Ryan Cramer
