Death: Jun. 23, 2007
Richard M. "Dick" Gray, 79, died June 23, 2007, at St. Vincent Hospice in
Indianapolis. Born March 2, 1928, in Martinsville, he was the son of the late Leroy
Gilbert Gray and Ina Ruby (Bolin) Gray. He married Betty I. (Hostetler) Gray on July 3,
1952. She survives in Martinsville.
He retired in 1990 after 48 years of owning HIMCO (Home Improvement Maintenance Insulation
Co.) in Bloomington. He graduated from Paragon High School in 1946. He was a member of
Calvary Heights Baptist Church in Martinsville and a member of Lions Club International
where he was a Melvin Jones Fellow Member. He enjoyed camping, woodworking and being
outdoors.
Survivors include two brothers, Jay and Bill Gray, both of Martinsville; one sister,
Barbara Sweany of Martinsville; two sons, Richard M. Gray II of Martinsville and Randall
M. Gray of Bloomington; one daughter, Deborah Sue Dugger of Bloomington; seven
grandchildren, Darcy Patterson, Julie Ferrence, Tasha Dugger, Kristen, Emily, Diana and
Josiah Hunter and six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Bob
Gray and an infant brother.
Services were entrusted to Neal and Summers Mortuary of Martinsville, Indiana.
