Ron & list,
I have no data to aid you in your more recent generations which begin with
Mary E. (Compton) McDaniel. However, I do have a copy of "The St.John
Genealogy" by Orline St. John Alexander from 1907. This work stops with the
marriage of Phebe to William Compton and mention of the children Jonathan
and Mary (with no dates for any of the events). If you are missing earlier
generations back seven generations to Matthias St. John who died at Norwalk
Connecticut in about 1669, I can supply the published data.
If you need any of that info, contact me. If you are willing, I would be
interested in adding material and dates for your line to my records. My
wife is the great-grandniece of Phebe.
My wife's mother came from the St. John line. Her McDaniel connection was
on her father's (Adkins) side, but it is quite possible that your John C.
McDaniel connects to that family branch. However, I can't do it yet.
Perhaps another list member can fill some blanks concerning the McDaniels.
