The Clerk's office is still at the Court House and has lots of
records. Because the vault is tiny, most of the ones you want to see are
at least 6 feet up on top of the stacks. It's a regrettable situation for
researchers. Some records are microfilmed, with copies in the micro
department in the basement.
The Court House suffered fire damage in the 1870's or slightly earlier. A
few records were burned, including some marriage records.

The Martinsville Courthouse in Morgan County has a record of all marriage
licenses. I have not seen any other records. The Courthouse burned in the
1900's I believe and many records burned with it. I have looked for my
relatives' licenses there and have been very successful. Good luck.
