Does Morgan County have any Inquest Files for murder, suicide, accidental
deaths, etc? If so, they might help with
your Axe Murder. My local county has many old inquest files before 1900
on file at our local court house--they are
very helpful.

I just thought of another search. The Indiana State Archives has
information, some very detailed, about prisoners at the state prisons.
Given a name and approximate date when sent to prison, they can find much
in their in-house database. You would need to go there to get help, as
their email and snail mail lists are long. If you go, get help from Alan
January or Vicki Casteel.
