Yes, the MCPL has many newspapers on film. Not all of the early ones. The
reader/printers are cantankerous, but you can usually find one that will work or print.
Whether you will easily find what you want at the Clerk's office depends on how long
ago this has been. Many of the Clerk's records are on microfilm at the library and
the microfilm department at the CourtHouse. The Clerk's office has so little storage
that it is impossible to reach some older books, which reportedly have been microfilmed
anyway. I don't know for sure that is true.
I would call the MCPL to find out which days there is someone in the gen section, usually
only 2 days a week, when planning my trip.

Does the MCPL have newspapers on film? If so, does the
library have a
working film reader/printer?
Also, is it possible to go to the courthouse and look up old
murders and
trials? According to family lore, my husband has an ax
murderer in his family
and I'd love to either prove it or dispel it once and for all.
I'm planning on coming to Indiana in the fall. I have a
brother that lives
in Greenwood, isn't that convenient?
