Good idea. I don't have Heiss (Indiana Quaker records) readily available here but
will ask a friend who has it at her house.
Thanks for the suggestion.

Tim,
Have you checked Quaker records, since you have an NC origin? You may find something in a
Hadley history, either written about them or an allied family. Hadleys were thick in
Brown Twp, so you may find something in a family file or book at the Mooresville library.
There may be something in a family file at the MCPL. Certainly the Quaker records are
there.

Subject: [INMORGAN] Vivian Phillips, granddaughter of Jeptha Phillips
To: Morgan County IN List <inmorgan(a)rootsweb.com>
Hi,
I am looking for the whereabouts of a Vivian Phillips, the
granddaughter of Jephtha Phillips, who was named in his obituary
of 1921. I believe she was fairly young in 1921, perhaps the
Vivian Phillips listed in the 1920 census as follows. She may
still be living today.
1920 United States Federal Census > Indiana > Morgan > Brown >
District 191
David W Joyner 68 head NC NC NC
Dollie M Hadley 24 daughter NC NC NC
Lenard S Hadley 25 son in law IN IN IN
Vivian Phillips 9 granddaughter of David Joyner born
IN father born IN mother born NC (perhaps Dollie M. was Vivian's
mother, perhaps she was married to a Phillips before marrying
Lenard S. Hadley)
Jephtha was born 13 May 1852 on a farm near present day
Centerton, Indiana to parents John and Elizabeth (Davidson)
Phillips who lived in Clay Township. Jephtha had two sons living
with him who may have been father to Vivian: Elva or Alva,
Floyd, or Herman.
