Jim,
Aren't you jumping the gun a bit? You have given them less than a month
to reply to you. I have dealt with researchers (who are PAID) who take
more than 6 months. Many times a volunteer does the look-ups. They may
be on vacation or not been in to work for the last two weeks. I would
wait AT LEAST one month before I made it sound like people don't do
anything.

I have sent two messages to the Martinsville Library (June 11 and June
28),
both of which have been ignored. I have to conclude that they no longer
have any volunteers who will check microfilm for out-of-state searchers, so
with some trepidation, I am requesting some help from a list member who
might live in the area.
Roy Lemons died on March 7, 1927 and is buried at Mt. Zion near
Mahalasville. Would some helpful soul look at the microfilm of the obituary
and tell me his parents, if they are listed? For now, just telling me his
parents would
let me determine whether or not I wanted a copy of the obit. If it is the
desired Roy, I can then continue to work on retrieving the records.
Thanks for any assistance.
Jim
