Dear Marilynn,
Sorry it's taken me so long to respond. I've been busy planning my daughter's
wedding and travelling alot. Anyway, It's nice to find yet another Bange cousin.
I'm related to the Marley's by marriage only (my Great Aunt Grace married Clyde
Marley). On this board I have previously posted my lineage on my mother's Bange side.
My mother, Gladys Luella, was the daughter of Georgia Ethel Bange who was the daughter of
Gallant Bange. My Mom was raised by her grandparents in Indiana before marrying my father
Robert M. Morgan.
My mother was very close to Aunt Osie (sort of a surrogate Mom to her) and she was
devastated when she and Aunt Alice were killed in the car accident. I was two the year
they died so have no memory of either of them, but my older siblings say both Alice &
Osie were a bunch of fun! Guess they were liberated, independent women long before it
became popular.
I hope you have luck researching your grandfather McCoy. My mother says she vaguely
remembers him as a rather gruff, strong silent type.
I still haven't found any additional information (other than what I posted last year)
on our great great grandfather, Lewis Franklin Benge. I suspect he was born in Madison
Co, KY and is not of the King David Benge lines, but I'm still searching for a link
because the names are identical to the Lewis Franklin Benge born in Clay Co.
Let me know if you have any other info on the Bange's that isn't already listed
under this topic.
Best regards.
