Hi Debbie,
Yes, I did receive your inquiry (I am still here-ha). I've gone back to my records
and also have a note that Winfield Duke (son of Hugh Duke and Pauline White) died during
in the Union Army during the Civil War. I have no other information for him (no birth or
death or wife or children). I also see that his brother Columbus Duke died on November
25, 1863; killed at Mission Ridge (Company K, 100 Reg. Ind). I will go back and see what
my source was......pretty sure it is from the Duke Book that was printed in the 1930's
that is at the Morgan County Library in Martinsville, Indiana. At the time I discovered
the book I only had a few minutes left and only made copies of a few pages....this book
may have more information on your Winfield. You may want to request his military service
record. I did that on another great uncle and it was helpful.
I have a good amount of information on his grandfather and grandmother; John Duke and
Sally McNeal. However very little on Winfield's parents; Hugh Duke and Paulina White.
Let me know if you what this information.
