This book has no cover, and no index, and no author. I bought it on Ebay; it just has the
insides, but it is full of Indiana biographies. I am not researching this family, just
thought I would share. I do not know anymore about these families or these surnames. NOTE:
I don’t know if there is any additional mention of this family in the book, it has no
index. I do not want to sell this book. I am typing the biographies from it.

Surnames in this biography are: Beeler, Hunter, Anderson, Stuart, Mathews,
COIN C. BEELER is president of the C. C. Beeler & Company, real estate and mortgages,
at 6447 Kennedy Avenue, Hammond. Mr. Beeler is a native of Indiana and has been a
businessman all his life, with a varied experience in different lines of work. He was born
at Indianapolis, September 6, 1893, son of Andrew Jackson and Inez (Hunter) Beeler. His
grandfather, Vestal Beeler, came from Pennsylvania and was a farmer in Marion and Morgan
counties, Indiana, prior to the Civil war. He and his wife are buried at Brooklyn,
Indiana. Andrew Jackson Beeler was born in Morgan County, attended subscription schools
during his youth and for many years was a grocery merchant. While in business in Oolitic,
Indiana, he was deacon of the Baptist Church. Afterwards he was a merchant at
Indianapolis until he retired, and now lives at South Bend. His wife, Inez Hunter, was
born and reared in Johnson County, Indiana. She is an active member of the Baptist Church.

rnie, who died at the age of seven years; Coin C.; and Roscoe H., of Indianapolis. Coin C.
Beeler attended school in Johnson County and after leaving school was associated with his
father in the store for twelve years. He left that to go with the American Express
Company, now the American Railway Express, and for nine years this was his line of work.
He began as night transfer man at Marion later was assistant route agent and route agent,
and when he resigned from the company he was money order clerk at South Bend. Mr. Beeler’s
experience has been in the real estate field since 1918. Until 1924 he was located at
South Bend. In May, 1924, he came to Hammond as secretary of the Securities Realty
Company. Subsequently he was made general manager of the company. He resigned in August,
1928, to go into business for himself, handling real estate and mortgages, at first with
offices in the First Trust Building, and since November 1, 1929, at 6447 Kennedy Avenue.

n of the city is known as Hessville, one of the oldest settled communities in the region
now comprised in the City of Hammond. Mr. Beeler takes an active part in civic affairs. He
is a member of the Chamber of Commerce, is a vice president of the Hessville Civic
Association, is a member of Garfield Lodge No. 569, A. F. and A. M., the Improved Order of
Red Men, B. P. 0. Elks, and Fraternal Order of Eagles. For several years he was much
interested in the work of the Lions Club. He is a member of the Lake Hills Country Club,
is a Democrat and in 1931 was appointed Hammond City Chairman of the Democratic Party, and
is an English Lutheran. He married at Oolitic, Indiana, April 25, 1913, Miss Wynonia
Anderson, daughter of Arch and Eva (Stuart) Anderson, of Oolitic. Her father was a
blacksmith and wagon and carriage maker. Mrs. Beeler passed away September 16,
1921, and is buried at Oolitic. She left one daughter, Eva Inez, now attending high school
at Hammond. On M!
ay 25, 1925, at South Bend, Mr. Beeler married Miss Clara Mathews, daughter of William and
Hattie Mathews, of South Bend. Her father for many years has been an employee of the
Studebaker Corporation. Mrs. Beeler attended grammar and high school at South Bend. She is
an active worker in the Lutheran Church.
