Yes I remember that, but thought someone else might be researching this line. My note was
vague huh?
I have a huge favor to ask of you. I cannot get a line on my gr gr grandfather. Might
you be able to check William Chad (d) going to prison in Frederick Co MD. All I know is
that he was the third (Ascending) generation from Samuel born 1754 (William Chad Jr,
William Chad Sr).
My grandfather was William Thomas Chadd 1866-1938 born Reeve Twp, Daviess Co IN as far as
I know. His father was James Chadd 24 JUL 1828-9 APR 1879 born/died in Daviess Co IN.
Then I have a note that says his mother might have been Sarah __?__born 1804 KY...no
mention of a father. In Daviess Reeve Twp census show a Sarah Chadd in Daviess Co as a
widow with the children, and a James & Eliza (think that is endearing name for
Louisa..his only wife) living next door.
I've searched many Chadds in Bourbon, Nicholas & Harrison Co KY but can;t get a
lead. On an obit for my grandfather's brother Samuel Richard's wife, says he
believes his family came from PA (?).
I've found a line that is so similar to mine in Frederick Co, MD beginning with
William Sr, William Jr, Samuel,...That Samuel moved to KY and his descendants went to then
to Putnam Co IN. A person sent me the line (GED type) as he has it and said perhaps we
were connected to the William in MD that went to prison, William Jr inheriting his land,
and Samuel then buying it, and moving to KY with descendants moving to Putnam IN and
other places. Samuel does not have a wife, but has many children the same names as our
line uses. Samuel b.15 DEC 1754 Frederick Co MD, died abt 1839 in Harrison Co KY, married
unknown and she died before Nov 18, 1833 in Harrison KY. He was Rev War 1776-1777.
My ?? is would you be able to check on a William Sr or William Chadd Jr going to prison in
MD. Then maybe we culd get his descendants from that?
