Joyce,
I'm not familiar with Mathews, so I am going to ask others in our organization.
Quakers generally settled in Brown and Monroe Twps instead of Clay. Have you checked the
BLM database to see if they came into one of those townships and later moved? Another
resource for you are the Monthly Minutes for West Union and White Lick MM records. You
would need to get those on microfilm. Have you checked Hinshaw and/or Heiss?
Sharon

Thanks Sharon, I hadn't looked there yet. One question I have
that maybe someone on the list might have the answer to is,
under the heading Ghost Towns there was one called Matthews that
wasn't clickable. Does anyone know anything about the Matthews
Ghost Town? The surname I'm researching in Morgan Co. is
Matthews and I'm just curious if this town had anything to do
with my family. From what I've found out about them in Morgan
Co. they lived in the Centerton area.
I do have quite a bit of info. on the Matthews family and
I will be submitting some of it to the history and gen. website.
They were a quaker family from S.C. that moved to Morgan Co. in
the 1820s.
Take care, Joyce
