BAILEY, BENJAMIN A : My Bailey line begins with Benjamin A Bailey and his wife whose
first name was Anna. Benjamin died before 5 April, 1819 in Adair County, Kentucky. Anna
(Bailey) is recorded in the 1830 Indiana, Morgan County census. In the 1850 Morgan County
census she was living with my great great grandfather, Alison Bailey (and his first wife
Margaret Ennis). Based on this census she was born about 1786 in North Carolina. Anna
Bailey owned land and lived in Greene Township, Morgan County, Indiana much of her life.
Anna Bailey died 17 August, 1851 in Morgan County, Indiana and is buried (according to the
Morgan County Cemetery Record, Vol. # II by Cowen”) in the Thompson Cemetery on Highway 44
near Cope, Morgan County, Indiana. Research in the Salem, Indiana Museum of North
Carolina Marriages on CD indicates a Benjamin Bailey married an Anna Pearce (Pierce) on 13
May, 1803 in Wilkes County, NC. These may be our ancestors.
I would like to communicate with any descendants of these people as well as know who their
ancestors were.
