I found a very nice article from the local newspaper about the Voyles farm, dated March 20, 2001. Included are several nice pictures -- one of Norman Voyles beside the tombstone of his great-great-great grand-father, Moses Voyles. I made a photocopy of the article. If anyone wants a copy, just let me know. I think it is 8 or 9 pages. Has very nice history of the family farm and current Voyles family members.
Also, the property is in Jackson Township, not Green Township. I should have known that. I have lots of ancestors from that area, including the Voyles family, who married into the Shireman family in several generations!

Yes, there are still quite a few Voyles families here in Morgan County. Lots of farmland out in Green Township, I believe. I will check it out when I go to the library this weekend.

I am tracing a part of the Doan / Doane family in South Dakota which originated in Morgan Co., IN and then moved to Hardin Co., Iowa, before going to SD. Specifically I am looking for the maiden name of Sarah "Sally" who married John R. Doan about 1853 in Morgan County, IN. She was born in NC. John Doan was born abt 1830 in IN; his father was Joseph Doan who was born about 1801 in TN and moved into IN by 1830. John's mother was Rachel __ who was born about 1801 in NC. (Would also like to know Rachel's maiden name.)
If anyone has access to records of marriages in Indiana after 1850, could you please look up the marriage of John Doan to Sarah __ about 1853? Thanks.
