I sent you an e-mail outlining a few things..yes. Years ago I corresponded with Mary Ellen Sheets who fram what she described, did a wonderful job in researching our your family line of William Henry. She also was attempting to locate earlier generations. She must have had a tremendous amount of information, but she told me that tape recordings, pictures etc were lost in flood.
I would also be interested in fidning original photos of the Swisher clan for a manuscript I am writing. I beleive it was her that sent me photocopies of David and Diedemia and Wimmiam Henry and Minerva..
For some reason, I did not get an auto notification that you posted an e-mail.. You can e-mail me direct at cpettit(a)telis.net

The third son, name unknown, of William and Frances Kenyon Weidner, must have died prior to 1854. William Weidner Sr., also must have died early 1854, as land settlement was filed in July 1854. Does anyone know where the Weidner's were buried?

In all of the researching, through the years, 21, seems to be the legal age for both men and women. Brides under 21 seemed to need some kind of parental signature. In many cases, the age of those getting married, were given as older than they were to get around the problem. Wasn't so easy in those days to get proof of age?

Jason,
John Gilman Callahan is my GG Grandfather. I cannot without a doubt prove the James Ballard/ John Gilman link. Can you do this?
My mother was doing research and had the theory, but could never link them for certain. I recently got a copy of John's death record listing a father named James and John Gilman and Anna Mae McCreery's marriage certificate.
I have no record of you at all. How do you fall in this line?
Michael

The Duckworth farm I know of is located in a community of Hynsdale, Morgan County In. Located in Jefferson TWP., just south west of Martinsville, between the town of Paragon and Martinsville, (hwy 67) My parents owned the farm at one time and a sister now owns a portion of the duckworth properties. Shiela Duckworth was the seller at that time. Being somewhere around the year of 1990. My father passed away in the stone home of the duckworth farm in 1992. The home has a rounded Kitchen, The old barn is still there. I owned the store at Hynsdale in 1999. Last known structure. The older cemetry's in that area was, "Stouts", "Hynsdale" both private owned with no access to them. Library records has a Nancy M. Ray, here is my best guess. First of all, William C. is not closely related to the other Moser/Mosiers living in Morgan County in 1880. They were probably cousins, but pretty distant. I'm fairly certain that William C. who married Emeline Scott was the son of John and Eliza Jane Mosier/Moser of Brown County Indiana. He shows up on the 1850 Brown County census as William C., of the correct age, father born Indiana, mother born Kentucky, as per the information on the 1880 census. John Moser was born July 22, 1826 in Monroe County, IN. His parents were Jacob Moser and Mary Stevens who were very early settlers to Monroe County, having moved there from Anderson/Knox County Tennesee, along with several other family members, including brother Michael Moser and his wife Rebecca Stevens (probably a sister to Mary Stevens), and their aunt Mary Magdeline Moser Butcher and her husband Barnabas Butcher. Michael and family later went on to Putnam County, IN. MM Moser Butcher was the youn!
gest daughter of Frederick Moser of North Carolina, and her older brother Abraham was probably the father of Jacob and Michael, although there is no REAL proof as to Abraham's children, so this must fit into the "good guess" catagory. Interesting to note that both Jacob and Michael were members of the Tennesee militia at the Battle of New Orleans. I hope this is of some help. Feel free to contact me directly at mosergenealogy(a)yahoo.com if you need anything else. Gary Mosier

I am reading the probate file for a resident of Morgan County, Indiana and they list the legal heirs as adult residents or minor residents of the county.
I am trying to establish the age of some of the heirs and need to know what was considered to be the age of majority in 1833 and 1845. Where can I find documentation for this information?
Thanks --

I am also related to Bartholomew Carroll/Carrell . He was married to Catherine Zumwalt. All the information I have found says Polly Carrell married John James. Polly and John James are my direct line. The problem is Catherine Zumwalt Carroll would have been 59 years of age at the time of Pollly's birth. I cannot find any documentation to prove the above. Can you be of any assistance?

You cna find John living with his family headed by Jacob Duncan in the 1850 census for Montoe county, Bean Blossom township, page 4. You can find John and Sarah in the 1880 census for Morgan county, Washington township, Dist 271, page 4. He is list as the head of household, using his initials J. C. Hope this helps. Don

I have a cousin in TX. who is also looking into information on Loch. We resently found another cousin searching for the same info and he said there is a Family Bible with his and grandmother's names, stating that they were married in Ozark, AR located in Franklin County.
This is the first I'd heard of the Bible or Franklin County for that matter. And I've lived in AR. for almost 30 years.
I'm going to research the AR. map today and see if Ozark, AR. still exists and where the County Seat is with the marriage records.
You've been a peach!
