Vickie,
Here are some thoughts/possibilities.
The Quinns were a Quaker family. They mostly lived in Decatur Twp in
Marion Co. I will forward your message to a person who has a Quinn line,
but I don't know if he has anything on yours. Movement from Mooresville
to/from West Newton in Decatur twp would not be unusual.
A divorce in 1870 would show up in Morgan Co court circuit court
records. Those older volumes are stacked very high on the records room
shelves, but they have been microfilmed. Ask for help from the Morgan Co
Public Library. Or get them from the LDS church.
Morrison and Dorinda had no one else in their household c 1870. About 50
variations of the name Mary Ann Coble are present in the 1870 IN census and
more are in IL.
None in Clay Co IL or Morgan Co IN.
Robert Stine shows up in his birth family as a 21 year old blacksmith in
Morgan Co IN. There are a few other possibilities.
You might benefit from a 30 day trial of Ancestry. But if you do, and
don't want to continue, you have to tell them so, or they bill you.

Vickie. You sure have a problem with this one. There was a Mary Stine in Morgan county but she was living with her husband Andrew and family which did not include Robert Stine. There was a Robert Stine but he was living with a Family headed by Cephas Stine and wife Susan. I think you should forget him as he is probably not the one you are looking for and the marriage in Morgan county in 1871 is probably him. There are too many Mary Coble, Stine and Quinn in the cenus to research. Good luck. Don

Please, if you can help in this search, I have been at this same brick wall for over 12 years. I need a census lookup and some input on a missing person MaryAnn Coble, Robert Stines mother
1870 census, June 25, 1880, page 34 shows Morrison living in Morgan City, Brown Township, Indiana
--1870 August census shows Morrison living in Marion City, Decatur Township, Indiana
1880 Morgan City, Brown Township, Indiana: shows Morrison living on Franklin Street.
1900 OR 1910 census shows living in Mooresville, Morgan County, Indiana.
There are no cemetery records for Morrison or Dorinda Quinn.
I have put this information into this query, to get some help as to what happened to Morrison and Dorinda Quinn?
Mary Ann Quinn,Stine,Coble had a son named Robert Stine who married Elizabeth Askew Jan 5-17871 in Morgan County Indiana. Mary Ann has disappeared from Clay County Illinois at and about this same time frame, my question is, did Mary Ann and Robert moved to Morgan County, about 1870 and Divorce David Coble who stayed in clay County Illinois and remarried in 1871, or did Mary Ann died in Clay County Illinois? Our court house burnt in clay County, there are no death records available, and from funeral home records, I have found no listing for Mary Ann Coble. Was there a Mary Ann Coble in a 1870 census, from my notes above, I am not clear who was in the house hold with Morrison, at this time, I was not sure if Morrison was Mary Ann's father. Shame on Me, for not being more efficiant. Now I am asking for your help, if you can. From Robert being in Morgan County, and Mary Ann disappearing about the same time, I believe at this time, Mary Ann was in Morgan County with Robert Stine, !
at the time frame of 1871 and may have remarried using maybe a surname of Quinn,Stine or Coble, David Coble has been known to leave a wife, with no record of Divorce before, and then has another wife in another county in Illinois. Someone suggested once, that Mary Ann could have remarried one of her siters widowed husbands? I just do not know, if Any one researching the Quinn or Stine family please contact

Vickie. How sure are you of the info you have, especially concerning William and Ifama Hagey. I went back and looked at the marriages for N.C. and could not find any listed for Madison or Ifama Coble. However; I did find where a marriage bond was taken out for the marriage of Madison Coble and Mary Hagey, in Guilford county, unfortunately no date is listed. The closest I could for Ifama was a marriage bond taken out for the marriage for Iphama Coble to Frederick Shoffner, again no date is given. Don

Vickie. I went back and looked at the 1840 census and found your Madison Coble in Guilford county, N.C. As I told you only his name is shown. Included in the family were males; under 5 = 1, 23 - 30 = 1 and females; 20 - 30 = 1. Also on the same page were a family headed by Jacob Hagee and included males; 40 - 50 = 1 and females 20 - 30 = 1, 40 - 50 =1. And also a family headed by Will Hagee which included males; 5 - 10 = 1, 20 - 30 = 1 and females; under 5 = 4, 20 - 30 = 1 and 50 - 60 = 1. As I said before the numbers include the head of household. Hope this helps. Don

I am intereseted in talking to and sharing any information known about the James E. Riddle/ Lulu Elliott family that lived in Mooresville, Morgan County, IN in the early 1900's. They had four children , two boys and two girls.I believe Mr. Riddle/Riddell drowned in a boating accident.
Thank you,

Am not researching this family, just trying to be helpful. Could not find any of the people you are looking for in the 1840 or 1850 census for Morgan county, except for the following. In the 1850 census for Morgan county, Clay township there was a family headed by Madison Coble, 33, a cooper (barrell maker), and included Mary, 37, - Wm M, 10, - A M, 8, - B A L, 6, - J A C, 3, and Elizabeth Hagy, 63. All were born in N.C. except for J A C who was born in Ind. Sorry about the names but that is just as listed in the census and unfortunately no family relationships are shown. Just in case you didn't know, in all census prior to 1850 only the name of the heads of household are shown, all others, including the head are listed by gender and approximate age. Hope this helps. Good luck. Don
At family 85 in the 1850 Census of Clay Township, Morgan County, Indiana is
this Coble household:
Madison Coble, 33, M, Cooper, $500, NC
Mary, 37, F, NC, can not read or write
Wm M., 10, M, NC
A.M., 8, M, NC
B.A.L., 6, F, NC
I.A.C., 3, F, Ind
Elizabeth Hagy 63, F, NC
There are also households headed by Gabriel Coble and Simpson Gabriel in
Brown Township but these do not have Hagy members in or near them.
An Eliza Hagy, age 34, born NC, is enumerated in the household of Major at
Bennet at family #94 of the 1850 Census of Madison Township.
I have in my research a Catherine Coble, b. 1820 Tennessee m. 2 May 1844
Lorenzo Dow Wood and an Amanda Coble m. 14 Feb 1909 Zachariah Byant. Any
connection? I'm particularly interested in finding identity of parents of
Lorenzo Dow Wood.
Sid
