Any information on Pearcy family in New Zealand
I am helping a young cousin to find her family history as well as sharing
mutual information with her. The following is her query:
I am researching a COX family. My greatgreatgrandmother was Kate L. Cox. she
was born July 30, 1873 in Morgan County, Indiana and died November 22, 1923
in Marion County, Indiana. Her parents were Morris Cox and Louisa (Liza)
Bemont. Morris' father was Paul Cox, born in Pennsylvania on November 6,
1808 and died in Morgan County, Indiana on March 15, 1876. Paul married an
Elizabeth Chandler in 1846 in Morgan County, Indiana. Paul's parents were
Alexander and Elizabeth (Unknown) Cox. I am uncertain where Alexander and
Elizabeth were born, but in a bio I found on Paul Cox, it states that his
family moved from Pennsylvania to Ohio and then on to Indiana. If you have
any information on this particular Cox family, I would appreciate any
information I can get! :) Thanks for your time.
Sincerely
Joyce Cox Lund

Sandra, I had a chance to look up this information at the Morgan County library while I was there researching this afternoon. I found the info listed in Marriage Record A, Page 155: Elijah Louder married Susannah Hasty. License issued on Feb 15, 1832. Marriage performed Feb 16, 1832 by Andrew McNabb. I made a copy of the record from the microfilm. Please e-mail me privately so I can mail this to you. Hope this helps in your search,

William Townsend Family Papers. 1835-1855. SC 48.
Photocopies, transferred from FMS 33 of papers of William Townsend (ca. 1780-1855), a Quaker of Perquimans and Northampton counties, North Carolina, and Hendricks County, Ind. Includes letters from relatives in North Carolina and Iowa, and the will of William Townsend. Also includes one letter to Rebecca Parker of Plainfield, Ind.

Has anyone on the list ordered this "Townsend"family manuscript? The library will copy it but are asking $25 for a copy of it. I'm not sure that this is a part of my family that moved from Nc. to Ky to Morgan County and wondered if anyone has seen a copy of this.

plainDoes anyone know who the parents of William Townsend were? He moved
from the Mecklenburg/Carrabus Co. area of NC around 1830's into the Indiana
Territory. His wife was Mary McGraw. Have info that her parents were James
McGraw and ? Corzine.......but, no proof. Does anyone have proof?
Thanks very much..........I'll appreciate any tips on this line.

Wish I knew so that I could pass on some solid information.
But as of yet, I still haven't made my connection.
Henry Townsend (one I'm trying to trace) was born in St.Louis,MO. 1896. He married Edwena Weiglein born in 1901, they lived/died in IN. I have sent for information but have not received it yet, and hopefully it will help me connect something.
I was told that Henry's father was Peter Townsend who was married to Mahalla Ferrin (several spellings of her last name).
Peter's father was Alex (sp?) Townsend, wife unknown.
I was told also that the Henry Townsend I'm looking for had a brother named Cleve (sp?) and sister named Lillie, still looking for them too. I have come across a Cleave Townsend in the 1920, dist.#205, Morgan Co.,IN census. But until my other information arrives, really no connection at this time.
When I do connect, will let you know, if you would want. There's definitely some connection somewhere with this Townsend surname, right?
Linda
