I am descended from Rebecca JACKSON who was born ca. 1790 in Virginia. She was a daughter of Micajah JACKSON. The family migrated from Knox Co., KY to Morgan Co., IN. Rebecca was first married to a TACKETT and had children: William, Lucinda, and Jeremiah TACKETT. She then married James STEWART after 1822 in KY and had several more children. The names of some of Rebecca's siblings are: Susannah JACKSON, who married a STEWART and lived in Morgan Co., IN; Daniel JACKSON, born 8 Jun 1805 in Knox Co., KY [he remained in Knox Co., KY when others migrated to Morgan Co., IN]; and Jeremiah JACKSON, born ca. 1814 in TN, died 27 Nov 1893 in Morgan Co., IN. I haven't done a lot of research on the JACKSON family [in either Knox Co., KY or Morgan Co., IN], so I don't know whether or not your Andrew JACKSON is of this same family. However, I would say there is a good chance that he is.
I am researching the following families of Morgan Co., IN: TACKETT,
ASHER, KILGORE, MYERS/MEYERS, JACKSON, STEWART, MOSER, and COLLIER; also
the following allied families: HOOTEN, DILLENDER, CLARKSON, HILLMAN,
PEARCY, PARKER, POE, DAY, TEDROW, ENNIS, TURNER. Would like to
correspond with anyone regarding any of these families.
