Hello,
I know this is a shot in the dark but I thought I would give it a try. I
was looking at my g-g-g grandfather's military pension application and
learned he was born in Martinsville. His name was Jesse Brown and he was
born August 11, 1836. I cannot go any further on the Brown family than him
so I have no clue what his parent's names were. I do know that he was not in
Indiana in 1862. He enlisted for the Confederate Calvery in Houston, TX. I
would try to search the 1840 and 1850 Census but since only the head of
household is listed that would not do any good. Would anyone have any
information that matches my Jesse Brown's ? Any help would be greatly
appreciated!
Thanks!
Kristy

(2) The second paper was a newspaper clipping from 1957 --
"Highway Marker Honors Oldtimer," about the placement of an
historical marker at Lost Prairie on Highway 20 honoring Andrew
WILEY. Names mentioned are: Mr. and Mrs. Paul HEYNE of the
Fairview District, Will ROBERTSON, Mr. and Mrs. Clarence WILEY
of Foster, Mr. and Mrs. Charles WILEY and son of Redmond, and
Mr. and Mrs. Marshall CLEVENGER and children of Terrebonne.
I would be happy to pass these on to a member of the family.
