Beginning March 2nd, 2020 the Mailing Lists functionality on RootsWeb will be discontinued. Users will no longer be able to send outgoing emails or accept incoming emails. Additionally, administration tools will no longer be available to list administrators and mailing lists will be put into an archival state.
Administrators may save the emails in their list prior to March 2nd. After that, mailing list archives will remain available and searchable on RootsWeb

To begin, I was only making a suggestion, not a complaint. Second, I was
extending a sincere note of thanks to Randi for his efforts. Finally, I am
always happy to contribute information when I have it and when I encounter
someone who may be able to use it.
I am fairly new to internet genealogy and I, like many others, am not
familiar with the procedures for these lists. Suggestions can lead to
debate, new ideas, and positive change. However, my suggestions seemed to
bring out the worst in a few individuals... the type of responses that
would discourage new list subscribers.
If I may make another suggestion... Please make an effort to examine the
total context of a situation before lunging for someone's jugular vein. By
doing so, communication is enhanced and all our efforts will be more

Apparently the majority wins... as they should. I apologize if I ruffled
any feathers. I'm not familiar with the variety of ways that people access
this information. Perhaps someone might fill me in on "digest" mode so
that I can make my own decision.
I want you to know that I really appreciate all the info you've been
tossing out in recent weeks. However, it would be very helpful if you
could do two things:
1. Consolidate them into fewer emails, so there are fewer emails to download.
2. Post the surnames in the subject heading.
