Mrs. Aaron Berger entertained the members of the Cosy Corner Embroidery club at her home
in South Peru, last evening.
Mrs. Edward Hooper has returned to her home in Converse after spending a few days in Peru
with relatives.
Mr. and Mrs. Ernest E Porter of 110 North Wabash street, are the parents of a son.
Fifty guests were entertained at a contest luncheon at the home of Capt. S C McLain, 174
East Second street, last evening. The Salvation Army Sunday school just closed a
three-month contest and the luncheon was for the winning side.
Miss Anna K McLaughlin went tp Logansport this morning to spend the day.
Drs. Van Osdol, W R Meeker, J M Doyle and McIntyre are in Chicago today attending the
golden jubilee of the Illinois Dental society. The programs are being held in the Hotel
LaSalle.
Will Hiner, residing four miles east of Peru, sustained a fractured collar bone yesterday
when he was buried beneath eleven feet of rock and dirt after a ditch he was helping to
dig caved in on him. He was rescued by a fellow workman, who also summoned a physician.
