Mrs. Margaret Hart Guendling, 89, diedSaturday afternoon at 4:25 o’clock at the home of
her daughter, Mrs. Anna Helvie, 307 Vaile avenue, Kokomo. She had been ill a week and her
death was due to complications.
The remains were brought to the Costin-Bond funeral home for burial preparations and later
were taken to the home of a son, Charles Guendling, 317 West Main street. Funeral
services will be conducted in St. Charles Catholic church Tuesday morning at 10:30 o’clock
and burial will be in the Catholic cemetery.
Mrs. Guendling was born in Lafayette September 25, 1849 and her age at the time of death
was 89 years, five months and 23 days. She came to Peru in 1871, shortly after her
marriage to Mechl Guendling. During the past fifteen years Mrs. Guendling has made her
home with her children, living part of the time with Mrs. Helvie in Kokomo and the
remainder of the time with Charles Guendling in Peru.
Surviving besides the two children are two grandchildren, Charles Helvie of Kokomo and
Mrs. Florence Linrode of Peru, and a brother, J Hart of Lafayette. Mrs Guendling was a
sister-in-law of the late Father John H Guendling, former pastor of St. Charles’s church.

John Sins, 81 years old, highly respected farmer of the Wawpecong vicinity, died at his
home Saturday noon. He had been in failing health for a year and his death was due to
complications.

Mr. Sins was born near Wawpecong July 30, 1857, one of eight children of William and
Saloma Sins. He was united in marriage with Elizabeth Pfleeger on December 10, 1882 and
to this union three daughters were born. Mrs. Sins died March 23, 1892.
Surviving are the three daughters, seven grandchildren, one great-grandchild, three
brothers and two sisters. The daughters are, Mrs. Edward Kring of near Wawpecong; Mrs.
Ross Nicholes of Loree, and Miss Odessa Sins at home. The brothers are Charles Sins of
Wawpecong; George Sins of Rensselaer, and Tilden Sins of Peru, and the sisters are, Mrs.
Nancy Glassburn of North Grove and Mrs. Gus Tumblin of near Miami.
Funeral services will be held from the Wawpecong United Brethren church Tuesday morning at
10 o’clock, with the Rev. Sherman Kendall officiating, assisted by the Rev. RL Handschu.
Burial will be in the Rankin cemetery.
The body was taken from the Wayne Ladd funeral home to the late residence Monday noon.

Funeral services for Mrs. Harriet Good were conducted in the Drake funeral home Saturday
afternoon. Interment was in Mt Hope cemetery. Pallbearers were Chris, Lewis, Beraman,
Oliver and Grover Good and LM Smith. Flower bearers were Mrs. Janet Huff, Mrs. JW
Selgrath, Mrs. T Landis, Miss Thelma Smith, Mrs. Mabel Crim, Mrs. Joseph Donat, Mrs. Ned
Gerber and Mrs. Eileen McGuirk.
