Hello All!
Vicky McCain contacted me yesterday wondering if there might be a typo in the article
above. I am grateful that she noticed this error, whether mine or the paper, as I no
longer have the paper to double-check.
I have asked her to post an update so we will be able to avoid confusion and maybe this
will even add to the story for whoever researches in the future.
Thank You again, Vicky, for asking about the possibility of typos.
We are at the mercy of human error all the time...
I hope you write your update soon.

Hi,
In this article, I noticed Thomas McClain, a barber, was involved in the car/bike
accident. This made me wonder if he could be my husband's grandfather, Thomas
McCain. He was a barber in Peru in 1939. I quickly emailed my father-in-law, Carl
McCain. He said his family lived at the Washington Ave. address listed in the newspaper
article but did not remember the incident involving Louis Wilson.
Our last name is often misspelled as McClain so I figured it was just a newspaper typo.
I'm glad I followed up with Regine and my father-in-law to clarify this detail. Now I
know this story involves our family! If anyone knows what might have happened to Louis
after the accident please let me know. I haven't been able to find out anything so
far.
Again, thank you sooooo much Bruce & Regine for all of your hard work!!
