Miss Fern Mahley is assisting in the county treasurer’s office during the spring tax
paying season.
Paul Stranahan entertained the members of the Phi Tappa Kegs at a smoker and business
session last evening in honor of three of the members back from school on their spring
vacations. Honored guests were Craig Redmon, Frank Stutesman and Wilhelm Nelp.
Miss Alta Bennett has resigned her position at the Peru Chair factory and will leave in a
few days for Chicago where she has accepted a position.
Fred Bickel will leave tomorrow morning for Birmingham, Ala. Where he will join the Kit
Carson Wild West Show, a twenty car aggregation that has its winterquarters in that city.
Roy Hockman has been named postmaster at Bunker Hill to succeed Jesse Mumaugh, who
resigned.
Frank Brown and son, Charles, will leave in a few days for Pharr, Texas, where he recently
purchased a farm. The remainder of the family will move there after a number of
improvement on the farm have been completed.
