Mrs. Ida Highley is in West Virginia, having been called there by the sickness and death
of her sister, Mrs. Emma Havermale.
Mrs. Bruce Haycock, with Mrs. Gite of Kokomo, and Mrs. Golding, Mrs. Pickett and Miss
Parsons of Greentown, spent Monday in Montpelier with Rev. and Mrs. A E Leese.
Miss Jeanette Dice, a student at Indiana university, spent the week-end with her parents,
Mr. and Mrs. H F Dice.
Dr. F D Miller, who has practiced dentistry for the past 12 years in New Carlisle, Ind.
will locate in the offices of the late Dr. R L Way.
Mr. and Mrs. Ed Bly of Carthage, were week-end gueste of Mr. and Mrs. FJ Bly.
Mr. and Mrs Charles Uphouse and son were in Peru Sunday afternoon and called at the
Orville Dawes home. In the evening they went to Swayzee and visited with Mrs. Annie
Friermood and Mrs. Susie Pence who has been ill.
Mrs. CE Howard of Galveston, is visiting a few days with her son Harvey Howard and
family.
James Grossweiler, who was injured in an automobile accident in Hartford City on Saturday
night, March 4th, was removed to his home from the hospital Sunday instead of a week ago
as previously reported. The youth is improving.
Election of officers of the OES chapter was held Monday night at the Masonic temple. The
following officers were elected: Aldine Klingman, worthy matron; Raymond Thomas, worthy
patron; Mabel Larrison, associate matron, John Larrison, associate patron; Polly Maple,
conductress; Georgia DeWitt, associate conductress; Gaye Gift, secretary and Effie
Reynolds, treasurer.
The card party to have been sponsored by the Band Mother’s association Thursday night has
been postponed until later, due to so much illness in the county.
Mrs. George Walker of Warren is confined in Huntington hospital with a broken hip. Mrs.
Walker formerly resided here.
