Bennetts Switch

Born Tuesday to Mr. and Mrs. Chet Coldren of 1103 East Mulberry street, Kokomo, a
daughter. She has been named Nancy See. The mother was formerly Helen Russell of Bennett
Switch.
The Loyal Followers S S class of the Bennetts Switch M E church met at the home of Bobby
Zehring Friday evening. The meeting was opened by the chairman, Miss Jean Cagley.
Devotionals and business section were conducted. Names were drawn for a Sunshine club.
The meeting was closed with prayer. During the social hour various games were played and
refreshments in keeping with St Patrick’s day were served. Guests were Virgil and Waunita
Huse, Betty Fox, Rosalee Bauson, Eddie Hodge, Mary Uhrick, Don Foust, Marie and Jane
Cagley, Mary Hoff, Joan Russell, Mary Lee Faucett, Florence Ennis and Robert and Sara
Zehring. The next meeting will be the second Friday in April.
Mrs. Mildred Gasaway and Hattie Clem were Saturday afternoon guests of Alba Ault and
family.
Mr. and Mrs. Robert Hoover of Denver spent Saturday and Sunday with Mrs. Belle Swain in
Bennetts Switch.
Con Siktberg, Mrs. Mabel Fox and daughter, Betty, spent Saturday and Sunday in Chicago.
Mr. and Mrs. Walter Zehring and children Robert and Sara, spent Sunday with Mr. and Mrs.
Frank Miester and daughter, Jean of Goldsmith.
Mr. and Mrs. Charles Belt of Kokomo spent Sunday afternoon with Mark Dye and family in
Bennetts Switch. Mrs. Dye has been ill.
Don Amos is seriously ill with pneumonia at his home here. Mrs. Laura Weaver was called
home to help care for him. Mr. Amos is a barber in Peru.
A birthday dinner of lovely appointments was given at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Robert
Peters in Kokomo on Sunday, in honor of Robert Peters. Guests were Mr. and Mrs. Gus
Peters of Galveston, Robert Quinn, Mrs. Ida Snyder, Mrs. Madge Zehring and Mr. and Mrs.
Charles Waters all of Bennetts Switch and Mr. and Mrs. Ross Peters of Kokomo.
Revival services began here Tuesday evening at the Methodist church, Rev. Earl Van
Houghton, evangelist, will continue until April 2.
Mr. and Mrs. George Deering and Mrs. Elsie Standley and baby were Sunday evening guests of
Claud Fewell and family.
Mrs. Lena Shoemaker and Rose Marie Edwards called on Crystal Ault Tuesday morning.
