An interesting meeting of the Miami parish, which includes Cassville and Bennetts, was
held Sunday night at the Bennett’s Methodist church. The youth meeting was also held.
Mrs. Katherine Sheridan was the principal speaker. Her subject was “Our Children and
Community Life”. Mrs. AJ McCafferty presided and Mrs. Alta Phelps was in charge of the
devotionals. Others on the program were Miss Wanita Myers, Miss Theodore McConnell and
Miss Helen Dye.
Mr. and Mrs. Forrest Glassburn were Sunday evening visitors of Mr. and Mrs. Willis
Harvey.
Friday guests at the home of Mrs. AJ Kurtz and daughters were Mr. and Mrs. Roy Kurtz of
near Peru. Sunday guests were Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Kurtz of Indianapolis.
Mrs. Fred Buschbaum had as her Sunday afternoon guest. Mrs. Albert Bullick, north of
here.
Mrs. Lottie Coleman and family had as their guest Sunday evening, Miss Marie Cagley of
Wawpecong.
Mr. and Mrs. Russell Buzbee and Miss Betty Armstrong were in Marion Sunday to see William
Armstrong, a patient at the Veterans’ hospital.
Sunday dinner guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Wilmer Rogers and family were Mr. and
Mrs. S A Rogers of near Roann. Sunday evening Wilmer Rogers and family spent the evening
in Peru at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Bayless.
Mrs. A J Henesley will be assisted by Mesdames Sara Findling and Erma Gilliland in
entertaining the M E Ladies’Aid Society at the home of Mrs. Hinesley. There will be an
election of officers.
Mesdames Edon Coldwell, Noah Sandifur, A J Hinesley and Miss Mary Ellers attended the
district conference held at the Methodist church in Sharpsville Wednesday.
Mesdames Harlan Miller and Earl Shue attended the funeral services of Mrs. Mary Dannetell,
held in Kokomo Monday.
Mr. and Mrs. Russell Ellers were Sunday guests at the home of Mr. and MRs. Herrell Ellers
and family, near Russiaville.
Mesdames RH Gilliland, Sarah Findling and AJ Hinesley will be hostesses to the M E
Ladiess’ Aid society Thursday afternoon at the home of Mrs. Hinesley. Note change of
day. There will be an election of officers.
Elite Needle Circle will meet at the home of Mrs. Eldon Caldwell Thursday March 30. A pot
luck dinner will be served at noon to be followed by the social hour.
Mrs. Harvey Haynes returned home Monday from the home of Mr. and Mrs. Herrell Ellers and
family, near Russiaville, where she was a week-end guest.
Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Ladd were in Peru Monday.
Mr. and Mrs. J B Shoemaker were in Peru Tuesday in the interest of business.
Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Kepner, Mrs. Frank Snyder, Mr. and Mrs. AJ Hinesley were Wednesday
visitors at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Howard, near Lincoln.
Mr. and Mrs. Forrest Glassburn were guests at dinner Sunday at the home of Mr. and Mrs.
Earl Glassburn and family, near Peru.

Your news today was a surprise to me - I'm Helen Dye now McCauley. I'm 87 so I
really don't remember this but I was very active in the Bennets Church at that time.
