I have family from Miami County. My grandmother, Eura Leota Ewing married her first
husband in Peru. Her second husband, my mom's dad, William Jonah Klise, died in Peru,
and we are unable to find the location of his grave. I copied the information when we were
in the town hall (maybe not the correct name for the place), it was over 25 years ago that
we tried so hard to find his grave for my mom. My great-grandfather, Milton Ewing was born
in Bunker Hill. We know he had a mother, a father from Ireland (but we don't know his
first name), and several siblings. He married a Wertz from Peru, and they moved to
Winamac.
That's a little about one of your readers and a member of first families of Miami
County.

I have been thoroughly enjoying all of the information coming my way this week!!
If you have information available, I would love to read it. I am from Branch 20 of the
Latta family located in Peru, IN. There are many of my ancestors buried at the Chili and
PawPaw cemeteries so some of your information could be pertanent to me.
Are you in the Peru area? I would even be willing to meet with you to see the articles
if no one is interested in seeing them online.
Keep up the great work!!

No apologies necessary, Tony.
Everything takes time and it's not always easy to see the value in a
one-sentence notice found in an old newspaper. Yet sometimes it is the only
clue we have to go on to help us redirect our research.
BTW, I am debating whether to include the extensive column on the community
goings on that are in the March 16th issue...
It covers Denver, Bunker Hill, Red Bridge, Chili, Mexico, and New Waverly.
One mentions someone having an appendectomy...
Let me know if you would like this to be included, otherwise, I will skip it
altogether.
Thanks for all the feedback!

Regine et al,
Thank you for your explanation of the matter presented, responses, and
insight. I responded in haste and without properly reading the information
provided. I initially thought this was spam that had made it through the
moderator especially reading the article about dogs running in the woods. I
am a novice at this type of research. In that respect, I did not consider
that sentimental value a piece might be to find out that your great
grandfather was a game warden.
I apologize for my initial email and will look at these in a different
light.
Thanks,
Tony

Hi Tony,
I am very sorry that this is bothering you.
I found several newspapers in our attic a few weeks ago and before I throw
them away as they are as brittle as can be I thought I would put them to
good use and share the information with the Miami County IN list as these
articles contain information that could be of interest to researchers.
A forum like this is not just a question and answer board.
It can be used to post information that can be of value to the
researchers.
I am sorry you didn't find it helpful to you.
Unless it bothers more people, I plan to send a few more obituaries as
well
as short articles. I will send them to Deb as well so she can post
to the
US Genweb page for Miami County.
Again, I am sorry if this has caused you to be bothered.
Best wishes,
Regine Brindle

Hello,
I am wondering why I am now getting these blurbs of local news. I signed
up
to get information about my family knowing that others are sending
requests
asking about family members as well. However, these do not seem to
be
requesting information. This is not why I signed up for this newsletter.
If
this continues, I will have to ask to be removed from the list, which
I do
not want to do.
Please respond and let me know if this is something that will continue.
Thank you,
Tony
