Betsy,
Hi! I will take a minute in the next couple of days to see if I have any of
the names mentioned in your email in the research I have that includes other names than
just mine for Miami County. Please give me a few days. Just wanted to let you know I
would do that for you. When a researcher sent me data at times that data included pages
with more than just my folks. People may very well be getting the two mixed up. That
seems to be the trend these days. Let’s hope you can clear up the situation. You might
also try the Miami County Museum in Peru. I don’t know who the volunteer is there now but
in the back of the museum is a wonderful genealogy collection. One of particular interest
to me was the family files they had. For such a small town there is a wealth of
information. Just a suggestion. Also the USGENWEB for Indiana/Miami County is
impressive.

Subject: [INMIAMI] Looking For Information
Hi there!
I am hoping that someone can help me out here. I am looking for
information on a Ruben/Reuben Steinberger who was born about 1794 in Page
County, Virginia, and died about 1843, in Miami County, Indiana. I have
little information on him. His parents were John Isaiah Steinberger and
Elizabeth Nauman/Norman. He married Polly Huffman on July 9, 1816, in
Champaign County, Ohio. He is supposedly the father of my 2nd
great-grandfather, Harrison Jack Steinberger who was born May 24, 1836, in
Taylorsville, Bartholomew County, Indiana, and died January 24, 1916, in
Jackson County, Indiana. There was a Ruben/Reuben Steinberger who died in
1822, and I think people are getting the two mixed up.
Thank you very much!
