I found this newspaper clipping among my father's belongings - he grew up in Bunker
Hill. I don't know why he kept it, but it may be of help to someone. No doubt this
was someone he knew when he lived there, although this man was 17 years older than my
father.
Newspaper source and date of newspaper unknown, but date of death is within the obituary.

Marion Starkey
Marion L. "Shammy" Starkey, 87, Bunker Hill, died at 3:30 a.m. Thursday Oct. 21,
1982, at Kokomo St. Joseph Hospital, after a long illness.
He was born in Bunker Hill on July 16, 1895, the son of James and Mahala Robertson
Starkey. In 1917, he married Evelyn Gladys Shope, and she died in 1932. In 1933, he
married Louise Rains, and she survives.
Also surviving are a daughter, Judy Golitko, Bunker Hill; eight sons, Gene and Max, both
of Peru, James and Ronald, both of Bunker Hill, Ralph of Kokomo, Dale of Cassville, Robert
of Ortonville, MN, and the Rev. M. Sandy of South Haven, Mich.; 27 grandchildren; three
stepgrandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and five stepgreat-grandchildren.
A son, daughter, sister, and brother are deceased.
Mr. Starkey operated a beekeeping business in Bunker Hill for 30 years. In 1960, he
retired from the Nickel Plate Railroad after 35 years employment.
He was a charter member of the Pipe Creek Volunteer Fire Department, and a member of the
Bunker Hill First Baptist Church, Fishing Club of America and Redman's Lodge of
Miami.
Services were held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 23, 1982, at the Allen Funeral Home in Bunker
Hill, the Rev. M. Sandy Starkey and the Rev. John Honeay officiating. Burial was in
Springdale Cemetery.
