Betty, I see in the 1900 census a John W. Reder residing in Pipe Creek
Township, if that is the husband to the Sallie you are looking for, have
you been to the Peru Library and looked at a thin bound book titled "Clymer,
Rankin Springdale & Miami co Cemeteries/ Bowers Vol. 4" ? I have found
several of my relatives listed in that book who's headstones are missing.
Also some Pipe Creek settlers are buried at "Charpie Cemetery" and I don't
believe that cemetery has ever been recorded. It is on the South side of
Peru and you have to park in some folks driveway and walk back to a corner
of the property to get to that cemetery. I was there a couple years ago and
it had been mowed and I would guess a couple hundred burials are there.
Good luck hunting and don't give up, it is surprising at what comes ones
way serendipitously when doing genealogy !

Subject: [INMIAMI] Sallie "Sarah" Utter
Hi ,
I know I have posted this a fews years ago, but want to give it a shot
again. My great-grandfather John W. Reder was married to a Sallie Utter,
or
Uter, who would be my great-grandmother. I have tried to find her place of
burial, headstone or even mention of her death, but I have been unable to
locate anything. I think she may have died before 1882 as the courthouse
in
Miami county burned and the records were destroyed.
I know there has got to be some mention of her somewhere in a document or
family info.
Her father was possibly Benjamin Utter. I would appreciate any info.
Thank You,
Betty Lewon
