Thank you for your time in posting these old newspaper articles, I often do this on the
Grant County site, hoping that someone will be able to use the info. I found the AGNESS
article interesting in that their daughter LOU ANN AGNESS was our grandsons' social
studies teacher at Lake View Christian School that closed it's doors on the Jr.High
and High School this last spring. She was a great teacher instilling them with so much
knowledge, this year with both of them in different schools they are finding their social
studies classes very easy because of Miss Agness's
teaching. She is a librarian
now at the Oak Hill High school.

Anniversaries
Mr.
and Mrs. Joseph AGNESS, Converse, will observe their 25th wedding
anniversary at an open house Sunday from 2 to 5pm at their home north of
Converse.
AGNESS
and the former Esther WINGER were married July 31, 1954 near Roamm by the Rev.
Ralph Hoffman. AGNESS is a farmer and
Mrs. AGNESS is a former Grant Count teacher.
The
open house will be given by their children Mary and Lou Ann AGNESS
Mr.
and Mrs. Floyd ROLER, 69 N Hood St., will be honored by their children and
grandchildren Sunday from 2 to 5pm at the home of their daughter Mary Louise,
wife of Earl EATON, Sharpsville.
The
couple will observe their 60th wedding anniversary. They were married Aug 2, 1919, by the
Rev. L
G Jacobs at the home of Mrs. ROLER’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. Clarence HAWKINS.
The
couple also have a son, Floyd ROLER Jr. of Sharpsville, five grandchildren and
three great-grandchildren.
ROLER
was a maintenance man at the Indiana State Police post for 10 years and is a
retired farmer.
Mr.
and Mrs. Thomas LONG, Macy, will observe their 60th wedding
anniversary with a family dinner and reception on Sunday.
Mr.
LONG and the former Pearl CLARK were married in Peru by the Rev. J W Hoyt, on
July 28, 1919. They reside on the farm
where Mr. LOG was born and reared.
The
dinner is being given by their five children: Juanita, wife of Robert GEBERIN,
and Charlotte, wife of Francis DUNCAN, all of Peru; Marquita, wife of Ted
EDWARDS, Macy; Fred of Rochester, and James of Danville, Ill.
They
have 21 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren. Mr. LONG is a retired farmer and
plumber.
