Deb,
Thank you for all that you do -- I live in Wisconsin, and truely appreciate all the
efforts you put into your website.

I have been busy updating all the cemetery pages and
adding obituaries. It takes hours to collect and
prepare the obits for the webpages. I am not
complaining, but want you to know that it is a slow
process, but I am working on it constantly.
Tuesday, Ed and I spent 4 hours looking for cemeteries
in Cass County, IN. I volunteered to help the Indiana
Genealogical Society in describing locations and
directions to Cass County Cemeteries. In four hours,
we only covered 2 townships, but we did make some
discoveries. Adams and Bethlehem townships are mostly
country with a few tiny towns. We followed directions
to many cemeteries and ended up knocking on doors to
talk to long-time residents about the locations of
some very old pioneer cemeteries. How disappointing
that several on the list are no longer visible as
cemeteries. Bethlehem Presbyterian is one. We spoke
with an 87-year old gentleman who had attended the
church all his life and lived in the area. He
remembers as a small boy, there were stones in the
churchyard where the church still currently stands,
but knows nothing of the locations indicated on the
IGS papers. Others appear to be "lost" also.
A 80-year young gentleman helped us with locating
Grabic/Grable. It is in a small woods in Adams Twp.
We did not go back there as we would have had to walk
through the crops to get there, but hope to go back
later in the year when the crops are in. Mr. M. said
in the 50+ years he has been there he was only aware
of about a dozen people going back to that cemetery.
He has a great view from his home of the fields and
that little woods.
Let me know if you would like to photograph cemeteries
in Miami, Cass or Howard Counties, to be added to the
webpages. I prefer green backgrounds as opposed to
brown or snowy white. This is one way we can at least
preserve the images and information for the future.
Help is needed to make this possible.
