Good evening Fellow Listers!
My apologies if you see this posted one or more lists.
I'm trying to help a friend of mine who just recently got interested in researching
his family's history. Been giving him some pointers along the way.
We're looking to find BEUTLER family members of the Mennonite Church for chances are
good that these could be his relatives. After talking to him tonight at ABF (Adult Bible
Fellowship), I'm suspecting that they came through the Port of Philadelphia in the
early 1800's or maybe even sooner.
There seems to be a tradition of ministers in my friend's family as there is a Peter
Beutler that was a Mennonite minister around 1830 in Iowa. My friend is a former
President of a Christian college in Mishawaka, IN that's part of the Missionary Church
which broke away from the Mennonites in the 1880's.
If anyone is researching BEUTLER, please let me know and I'll pass the info to my
friend.
Also for those of you on the Elkhart list, My friend lost a folder full of important
papers at the Elkhart Library sometime back. He would love to have it back.
Thanks in advance!
Rick
