We are not related to the Drakes, we don't think, but I have a question for
you. Our ancestor Jesse Beal was listed in the 1860 IN Wabash county, Lagro
township, as Jesse Drake. I know he had a neighbor Jurla? Drake that lived a
few house down the road. Since I have hit a brick wall with my Jesse, I am
looking at all the possibilities. Have you in your research of the Lagro
Drakes ever come across any relationship to the Beal family? Jesse's wife
was Mary Ann, I don't know her maiden name, but they were living as
newlyweds in Jay County in 1840. There was an Ebenezer Drake living in Jay
county in 1840/50. I am looking into the possibility of either Jesse or Mary
Ann having ties to the Drake's, but I have not been lucky so far. I can't
figure out why he would be listed as a Drake instead of a Beal. Any thoughts
you may have will be appreciated.
Thanks,
Luis Beal
