Robert "Bob" Sutton, 72

Robert "Bob" Sutton, 72, Deedsville, passed away at 4:18 p.m. on Wednesday,
March 30, 2005 at Dukes Memorial Hospital, Peru.
He was born August 13, 1932 in Fulton County to Henry and Edith (Zeider) Sutton. He
married Alice "Bettie" Sutton in Peru and she preceded him in death on July 13,
2004.
Sutton was a veteran of the U.S. Army.
He enjoyed visiting and talking to people and spending time with and seeing his family,
greeting them with his traditional "OHHONAU!" He also loved his job delivering
the Wabash Plain Dealer, which he did with his wife for several years. He loved listening
to music, watching Spongebob Square Pants and watching the South Bend news.
Sutton is survived by five children, Dennis Sutton, Deedsville, Robert Sutton Jr., North
Manchester, Linda Marlow, New Castle, Jody See, Delong, and Kathy Enyeart, Deedsville; one
sister, Betty Devins, Danville, Illinois; several grandchildren; great-grandchildren; and
the family cat, Miss Kitty.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; two brothers; and three sisters.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Monday at the Deedsville United Methodist
Church with Pastor Ron Vititoe officiating.
Burial will follow in the Deedsville I.O.O.F. Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. on Sunday at McClain Funeral Home, Denver.
James Larry Sandefur, 61

James Larry Sandefur, 61, Logansport, passed away at 12:20 a.m. on Friday, April 1, 2005
at St. Vincent Hospital, Indianapolis.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Sunday at McClain Funeral Home, Denver,
with Rev. Milford Smith officiating.
Burial will be at the Metea Cemetery, Metea.
Visitation will be from noon until 2 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home.
John C. Tillett, 79

John C. Tillett, 79, Peru, passed away at 3:12 p.m. on Friday, April 1, 2005 at Caring
Hands Health Care Center.
He was born April 10, 1925 in Miami County to Paul and Mabel (Miller) Tillett. He married
June Banks October 11, 1956, and she passed away in April 1966.
The 1943 graduate of Peru High School was a retired farmer, and he served in the National
Guard.
Tillett is survived by two children, Jeff Tillett, Peru and Jane Williams and husband
Andy, Greentown; three grandchildren, Stephen, Shannon and Matthew Williams; and one
sister, Judith Phelps, Peru.
Funeral services will be conducted on Monday at 10 a.m. at Flowers-Leedy Funeral Home with
Pastor Warren K. Purcell officiating.
Burial will be at Mt. Hope Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 2 to 5 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home.
George A. Langer, 78

George A. Langer, 78, of Peru, IN, died at 10:30 p.m. Friday, April 1, 2005 at his
residence. He was born in Peru, IN May 26, 1926, the son of Joseph and Mary Ann Welsh
Langer. He married Charlotte Meischke in the St. Charles Catholic Church on September 29,
1948 and she preceded him in death May 4, 2003.
He was a 1944 graduate of Peru High School and served as an Airplane Crew Chief in the
U.S. Army Air Corp during World War II. His decorations include the Good Conduct Medal,
the Army of Occupation of Japan Medal and the World War II Victory Medal.
He was employed as an Engineer on the C & O Railroad for 39 years retiring in 1986. He
served as a member of the Peru City Council from 1960 to 1964. George was Past Commander
of Peru American Legion Glen Owens Post 14. He was a member of the Peru Moose Lodge, a
life member of the Peru Maennerchor, a member of the United Trainmen Union and served as
UTU Local Chairman for 17 years.
He is survived by sons Dwight Langer and his wife Donna of The Dalles, OR and Geoffrey
"Jeep" Langer and his wife Wendy of Peru, a daughter Michelle Dawalt and her
husband Todd of Peru. A granddaughter Andrea Rose Langer of Peru and a grandson Joseph
Langer of Elmerdorf Air Force Base, Anchorage, AK also survive. In addition to his wife,
Charlotte, he was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Joseph Langer and a grandson
David Langer.
He was a member of the St. Charles Catholic Church where a Mass of Christian Burial will
be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, April 7, 2005, with Rev. Francis I. Kilcline III
officiating. Burial will be in the St. Charles Catholic Cemetery. Military graveside
services will be provided by the Miami County Military Rites Unit. Visitation will be from
5:00 - 9:00 p.m. Wednesday at the Eikenberry-Eddy Funeral Home, 84 West Main, Peru, IN.
There will be a prayer service at 8:30 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorial
donations may be made through the funeral home to the St. Labre Indian School or the St.
Charles Catholic Church.
Kathryn K. Barr, 60

Kathryn K. Barr, 60, Peru, passed away at 6:30 p.m. Friday, April 1, 2005 at her residence
following an extended illness.
She was born Dec. 28, 1944 in Miami County to John and Myrtle Marie Poor Black.
Barr worked at Woodcrest Manufacturing in Peru for 17 years. Her hobbies were playing
bingo and crocheting.
Survivors include a son, Matthew Barr, Elwood; a daughter, Lori Barr, Kokomo; three
grandchildren, Willie and Wesley Barr, both of Kokomo, and Jacob Barr, Peru; two brothers,
Richard Black and wife Debbie, and Tom Black and wife Margie, all of Peru; and four
sisters, Carol Savoie, Marilyn Hoff and husband Robert, and Betty Hiers and husband Jerry,
all of Peru, and Helen Moore and husband Donnie, Frankfort.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Evelyn.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Flowers-Leedy Funeral Home, Peru, with Pastor
John Thomas officiating. Burial will be in Ever-Rest Memorial Park, Cass County. Friends
may call from 9 a.m. until the time of service Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorial
contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
