Juanita M. Brown, 81

Juanita M. Brown, 81, Peru, passed away at 1:59 a.m. Tuesday, June 14, 2005 at St.
Elizabeth Anne Seton Hospital, Kokomo.
She was born on May 19, 1924 in Zoe, Kentucky to Ollie and Etta Morefield Johnson. She
married Robert W. Brownie Brown on January 16, 1943. He passed away March 25, 1996.
Brown was a member of St. Charles Catholic Church.
Survivors include four children, Flint Brown, South Bend, Kathleen Weeks Holy, Peru, Mary
Etta Sumpter and husband Bobby, Ocala, Florida, and Martha Jordan and husband Robert,
Perris, California; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and one sister, Louise
Berg, Peru.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother; and three sisters.
Funeral services will be conducted on Friday at 11 a.m. at Flowers-Leedy Funeral Home with
the Reverend Francis Kilcline officiating.
Burial will be at Mount Hope Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home.
Nancy L. Metzger, 61

Nancy L. Metzger, 61, Peru, passed away at 2:40 p.m. on Sunday, June 12 2005 at Caring
Hands Healthcare Center following an extended illness.
She was born February 28, 1944 in Peru to Vernon and Marianne Smith Myers.
The 1962 Peru High School graduate was a member of the Peru Church of the Brethren, and
Psi Iota Xi Sorority.
Survivors include two daughters, Laura Fulton, Bunker Hill and Lisa Richard, Peru; four
grandchildren, Lyndsay and Christian Fulton and Joshua and Brynna Richard; one niece,
Betsy Hanzelin and husband Rick, Homewood, Illinois; two great-nieces, Emma and Grace
Hanzelin, Homewood, Illinois, a nephew, Christopher Nelson, Lincoln Park, Illinois; a
great-nephew, Constantine Nelson, Lincoln Park, Illinois; and one sister Judith Nelson and
husband Craig, Flossmoor, Illinois. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Funeral services will be conducted at Flowers-Leedy Funeral Home today at 7:05 p.m. with
Pastor Greg Hiatt officiating.
Visitation will be today at the funeral home from 4 p.m. to time of service. There will be
a Psi Iota Xi service at the funeral home at 7 p.m.

Freddie Thomas Ogle, 73

Freddie Thomas Ogle, 73, Akron, passed away unexpectedly at 9:25 p.m. Monday, June 13,
2005 at Woodlawn Hospital Emergency Room.
He was born May 7, 1932 in Denver to Earl Ogle and Irene Dillard. He married Janet S.
Benedict on December 4, 1954 in Denver, and she survives.
Ogle was co-owner of Ogle's Standard Station in Akron for over 30 years and was
manager of Franger Gas in Akron for 12 years. He attended the Akron Church of God, was a
former member of the Honda Goldwing club in Warsaw and was the Henry Township Trustee for
several years. He farmed and did heating and air conditioning work, was a substitute mail
carrier for several years and was a U.S. Army Korean War Veteran. He graduated from Akron
High School in 1950, where he was a yearbook photographer. He enjoyed spending time with
his grandchildren, going out to eat with friends and caring for his orchard and garden.
Survivors other than his wife include one daughter, Christa Holloway and husband Tom,
Akron; two sons, Michael Ogle and David Ogle and wife Teresa, all of Akron; four
grandchildren, Brandt and Samantha Holloway, Angela Ogle and Luke Ogle; one brother,
Robert Ogle and wife Ellen, New Haven; one aunt, Elnora Krieg, Akron; and several
cousins.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the Akron Church of God, with
Pastors Terry Canfield and Steve Fleck officiating. Burial will take place at Akron
Cemetery with graveside military rites being conducted by the American Legion and V.F.W.
of Rochester.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. tonight at Hartzler Funeral Home, 305 W. Rochester St.,
Akron.
