Mabel E. Govea, 87

Mabel E. Govea, 87, Apache Junction, Arizona, passed away on Saturday, June 4, 2005 at her
home.
She was born on August 9, 1917 in Winamac to Oscar R. and Ura M. (Fitz) Stanfield.
Govea moved to Arizona in 1983 after living in Portage and Peru. She was a previous member
of the Women of the Moose of Peru and the Methodist Church of Peru.
Mabel is survived by her husband, Antonio; five step-children, Patricia Govea, California,
Daniel Govea, East Chicago, Edwardo Govea and wife Elsa, Corpus Christi, Texas, Arthur
Govea and wife Isabel, Hobart and Loudres Ramos and husband Alfredo, Hobart; eight
step-grandchildren and one brother, Howard Stanfield and wife Peggy, Peru. She was
preceded in death by her son, Howard L. Rose, a sister, Elanora Bennet and a niece, Sharon
Rose.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. on Saturday at Rees Funeral Home, Olson
Chapel, 5341 Central Ave., Portage, with Mr. John Berlin officiating. Burial will be at
Ridgelawn Cemetery, Gary.
Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Donna Kay (Sackett) Smith, 52, Baxter, Tenn. passed away Thursday, June 9, 2005 at
Cookeville Regional Medical Center.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at the chapel of Baxter Funeral Home,
Baxter, Tenn., with Brother Donald Widener officiating. Burial will take place at New Home
Cemetery.
Friends may call from 1 to 9 p.m. Saturday and from 8 a.m. to the time of service Sunday.
