Sorry, I don't know why she ended up in the York household -- we have
wondered that for a long time too
She was raised as a York and used the York name --yet when she died her
Bennett relatives are listed as survivors on her obituary -- I have found
no relationship of blood between the Bennnets and the Yorks
The only other Bennett that I have -is Sarah C. Bennett
the second wife of Aaron York (brother to John W)
she was 1851-1889 and had a brother Samuel
I do Not know that these Samuels were the same person or even
related ---This Sarah and a daughter were killed in their home when dynamite
exploded (had been placed in the oven to dry ) Sarah is buried at Mays
cemetery
Aaron is buried at Crider Chapel

Mrs. Oliver Mohler
Mrs. Anna Pearl Mohler, 76, of route 3, a lifelong resident of Miami County,
died at 3:45 a.m. Sunday at Dukes hospital of complications. She was ill 14
weeks.
Mrs. Mohler was a member of the First Brethren Church and the American
Pension Club.
She was born 10-12-1874 in Miami county, a daughter of Samuel and Sarah
(Parker) Bennett . She married George P. Sasaway in 1891. He preceded her in
death in 1926. She married Oliver Mohler in 1944 who survives.
Other survivors are, four sons, Russell Gasaway and Roy Gasaway of Peru,
Ralph Gasaway of Kokomo, and Theodore Gasaway of Wabash, a daughter Mrs.
Edna Garrett of Route 3, a step daughter Mrs. Melvin Miller of Indianapolis,
a brother William Bennett of Kokomo, a half brother Jim Malosh of Newcastle
Pa, 9 grand-children, and 10 great-grandchildren. A daughter, a
half-brother, and 4 half-sisters preceded her in death.
The body is at the Drake-Flowers funeral home, where friends may call.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday from the funeral home.
The Rev. J. Milton Bowman and the Rev. Lee Jackson officiating. Burial will
be in Mt Hope cemetery.

I don't know if this Sarah Bennett York and brother Samuel are a clue or
not --- if u learn more on this I would love to know the story, We have
wondered ever since we first learned of the situation .
My father-in-law (John York) remembers Pearl --but does not know why she was
raised as a York either,
